Yet another natural village story with real life characters.  Like Paruthi Veeran, romance is the main theme of the story.  An adamant boy (Suruli) gives a helping hand to a family which gets deserted after the demise of the head of the family.  He does all types of sacrifice to provide education to the girl (Mainaa).  Mutual love develops as they grow.

There are many interesting scenes like providing light through dynamo of a cycle and illuminating insects.  But the real twist in the story happens when heroine's mother is reluctant to accept Suruli as bridegroom.  Story goes in top gear after this.  Police Officers going in search of the accused, dangerous routes, bus accident, sentiment... Amazing speed and turn of events.  Thambi Ramaiya (sidekick comedian in many of Vadivelu's films gets enough scope to act), Police Officer Bhaskar, his wife, Mainaa's mother, Suruli's father - all these characters have literally lived in the film.

D.Imman has scored music for the film.  For a change he has taken the melodious route.  The songs may not be memorable, but they are apt to the film.
Like Paruthi Veeran, the climax scene is hard to digest.  May be the Director wanted to create sympathy.  The movie stays in memory for a long time even after you finish watching the movie.

Well done!!!
